What are the Insurance Exam Prep education requirements for Florida?
Individuals must complete a pre-licensing course of study for the lines of authority desired before taking any examination. The lines of authority requiring a pre-licensing course with study hour requirements are as follows:

What is the access period for AssuranceAmerica Academy Florida Insurance Exam Prep courses?
90 days from the date of purchase. One additional extension for an additional 90 days can be purchased for $50.
How often does AssuranceAmerica Academy report Florida Insurance Exam Prep course completions?
Every business day to the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Does AssuranceAmerica Academy supply a certificate of completion for Florida Insurance Exam Prep courses?
Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. Pre-licensing course certificates are valid for four years from date of completion.
Please note: Only 5 exam attempts for the same exam type within a 12-month period are allowed.
What is the process to transfer an insurance license to Florida?
Any individual licensed in good standing in another state may apply to the department to have the license transferred to this state to obtain a Florida resident all lines adjuster license or agent license for the same lines of authority covered by the license in the other state. A transfer of license may exempt you from a pre-licensing prerequisite and/or state examination if you completed it previously in your home state and/or your prior home state was a reciprocal state. Agents are defined as Property, Casualty, Life including Variable Annuity and Health.
To qualify for a license based on the transfer of license option, an applicant must meet all of the following requirements:

What is the process to obtain a non-resident insurance license in Florida?
Non-resident license candidates may obtain a Florida agent license, without having to complete the pre-license education requirement or take a license examination, as long as they are currently licensed as a resident and in good standing in their home state.

Are there any Florida insurance product specific training requirements?
Before selling, soliciting or negotiating the following products, insurance license holders are required to complete the training outlined below. These training hours can be used toward the total CE hours required to renew the license.
Long-Term Care Partnership Training
State required training for insurance producers that sell long-term care partnership products.
Initial Training
Hours: 8
Frequency: One-time training must be complete prior to selling LTC products.
Ongoing Training
Hours: 4
Frequency: Ongoing training must be completed every 24 month period following the completion of the initial training.
Residents and non-residents who satisfy the training requirements of another state with laws similar to Florida's law will be compliant with the requirement.

NFIP Flood Training
Hours: 3

What are the Insurance Exam Prep education requirements for Florida?
Individuals must complete a pre-licensing course of study for the lines of authority desired before taking any examination. The lines of authority requiring a pre-licensing course with study hour requirements are as follows:
- Life, Health and Variable Annuity – 60 hours
- General Lines (Property & Casualty) – 200 hours
- Personal Lines – 60 hours
1.Meet the general eligibility criteria
- Be at least 18 years of age
- A United States citizen or legal alien who possesses work authorization from the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service Not be an employee of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or state service office, as referred to in Section 626.833, Florida Statutes.
- Be a resident of the State of Florida.
- Prepare for the Florida State Exam by completing a pre-licensing course of study.
- To satisfy the requirements for your course, you will need to pass a closed-book Exam Prep Course Certification Exam with a 70% or greater and complete an online affidavit at the end of the course stating the applicant understands the course examination must be completed unassisted by any person, by the course materials, or by other materials.
- Fingerprinting is a mandatory requirement for almost all of the licenses, registrations, and certifications

- Make an exam reservation at www.pearsonvue.com/fl/insurance or by calling (888) 274-2020.
Before making an exam reservation applicants should thoroughly review the State of Florida Licensing Candidate Handbook. The Candidate Handbook and additional licensing information can be accessed by clicking on the Student Handbook button above. - Bring one form of current signature identification (a valid driver’s license, non-driver ID, passport, military ID, or employee ID card, credit card)
- Submit a license application to the Department online at www.MyFloridaCFO.com/Division/Agents and click on MyProfile upon successful completion of the examination. You must apply for your license application within 12 months of passing the state exam.
- Once an application has been submitted, you may check your MyProfile account for the status of your application. Deficiencies will be listed under the pending license type.
- Per Florida PLE requirements, applicants are required to complete all of the lessons in the pre-license education course sequentially before they can be issued a certificate of completion.
- Students must pass the closed-book Exam Prep Course Certification exam with a score of 70% or higher. Applicants will be required to complete an online affidavit at the end of the course stating the applicant understands the course examination must be completed unassisted by any person, by the course materials, or by other materials.
- If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.
- AssuranceAmerica Academy suggest to then utilize Exam Tutor and Flash Tutor for further practice before your exam day.
