STEP 1 — Complete Georgia's Required Prelicensing Education.
Georgia
requires prelicensing education for the Accident & Sickness line unless you qualify for an applicable exemption.

And here's some good news:
Georgia now requires only 8 hours of prelicensing education for this major line.
  • You don't need to struggle through an unnecessarily enormous course just to begin preparing for the licensing examination.

FYI Express+ has developed a focused:
GEORGIA ACCIDENT & SICKNESS8-HOUR PRELICENSING COURSE.
  • Designed to teach you what you need to understand for the licensing examination—and help you begin thinking like an insurance professional.
ONLY $79
Learn It. Recognize It. Apply It. Prove It.
START THE 8-HOUR COURSE — $79 →

DON'T JUST MEMORIZE IT. UNDERSTAND IT.
LEARN IT.
  • Understand the concept.
RECOGNIZE IT.
  • Recognize the clues in an exam question.
APPLY IT.
  • See how it works in a real insurance situation.
PROVE IT.
  • Answer the question—and understand why.

That's how FYI Express+ prepares you for the Georgia A&S examination.

WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?
Your Accident & Sickness preparation includes the major subjects you'll need to understand for the Georgia examination, including:
  • Types of Accident & Sickness Policies
  • Policy Provisions, Clauses and Riders
  • Social Insurance
  • Other Insurance Concepts
  • Field Underwriting
  • Insurance Contracts
  • Georgia Insurance Laws and Regulations
  • Georgia Accident & Sickness Rules
And throughout the course, you'll encounter the terminology and concepts you need to recognize when you sit for the licensing examination.

STEP 2 — PREPARE FOR THE LICENSING EXAMINATION.
Completing prelicensing education and being prepared to pass an examination are not necessarily the same thing.
That's why exam preparation is built into the course.
You'll receive:
  • Exam-oriented reviews
  • Important terminology
  • High-value distinctions
  • Exam Cram material
  • Practice questions
  • An 80-question final practice examination
  • Answers with explanations
  • A last-minute review sheet
The goal isn't to memorize an answer key.
The goal is to understand the material well enough to recognize the correct answer when the question is asked differently.

¿PREFIERE ESTUDIAR EN ESPAÑOL?
Tenemos una edición en español.
Georgia candidates have access to Spanish-language insurance examination options through Pearson VUE for applicable examinations.
That's why FYI Express+ has developed a Spanish edition designed specifically for the Spanish-speaking student.

CURSO DE PRELICENCIA DE ACCIDENTES Y ENFERMEDAD DE GEORGIA
8 Horas — Solo $79
The course is written in conversational Spanish, while retaining important English insurance terminology where it helps the student understand the language of the insurance business.

And we've aligned the Spanish study terminology with Pearson VUE's Spanish insurance content terminology.

STEP 3 — TAKE THE GEORGIA LICENSING EXAMINATION.
After satisfying the applicable prelicensing requirements, the next major step is the Georgia Accident & Sickness licensing examination.
  • This is where preparation matters.
  • Don't approach the examination trying to remember hundreds of disconnected facts.
  • Learn to recognize the concepts.
For example:
Waiting period before disability benefits begin?
  • Think Elimination Period.
Misleading someone into replacing insurance?
  • Think Twisting.
Understanding relationships like these is much more powerful than memorizing pages of definitions.

STEP 4 — APPLY FOR YOUR GEORGIA LICENSE.
Passing the examination is a major milestone.
But passing the examination does not, by itself, mean you're ready to begin transacting insurance.
You must complete Georgia's applicable licensing process and satisfy the state's requirements before acting as a licensed insurance agent.
Don't confuse passing the exam with being licensed.
Follow the current instructions of the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire and the state's authorized licensing/examination providers.

STEP 5 — BECOME GEORGIA ACCESS CERTIFIED.
Once you have the appropriate Accident & Sickness authority, the next step toward participating in Georgia Access is completing the applicable official Georgia Access agent certification requirements.
That's an important distinction:
  • Your A&S license gives you insurance authority.
  • Georgia Access certification qualifies you to participate in Georgia Access subject to its requirements.
They aren't the same thing.
FYI Express+ can prepare and develop producers, but official Georgia Access certification comes from Georgia Access.

STEP 6 — DECIDE WHICH MARKET YOU WANT TO PURSUE
Now things get interesting.
Once you're properly licensed, certified, and otherwise authorized as required, you can begin looking at the actual business opportunities.
And Georgia gives you two very different directions.

OPTION 1 — HELP INDIVIDUALS & FAMILIES
GEORGIA ACCESS — INDIVIDUAL HEALTH INSURANCE.
Work
with people who may be:
  • Self-employed
  • Independent contractors
  • Between jobs
  • Leaving employer coverage
  • Turning 26
  • Experiencing family changes
  • Working for employers without traditional group health insurance
  • Looking for someone who can help them understand their health coverage choices

OPTION 2 — WORK WITH GEORGIA EMPLOYERS
GEORGIA ACCESS FOR BUSINESS.
This
is a different opportunity.
Instead of beginning with an individual who needs health insurance, you begin with the business owner.
That creates an entirely different prospecting question:
“How are you helping your employees with health insurance today?"
For producers who want to develop business relationships and employer prospects, Georgia Access For Business deserves serious attention.

YOUR LICENSE CAN BE MORE THAN A PIECE OF PAPER.
Getting licensed isn't the destination.
It's the admission ticket.
Your Accident & Sickness license can open the door to opportunities involving:
  • Individual Health Insurance
  • Georgia Access
  • Georgia Access For Business
  • Disability Income
  • Supplemental Benefits
  • Medicare-related markets when properly qualified
  • Employee-benefit conversations
and other insurance career opportunities appropriate to your licensing and appointments.
What you build from there is up to you.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW INSURANCE BEFORE YOU BEGIN.
Every experienced insurance professional started somewhere.
There was a time when terms such as deductible, coinsurance, elimination period, and guaranteed renewable were new to them, too.
  • You learn.
  • You study.
  • You pass the examination.
  • You obtain your license.
  • Then you continue learning.
That's how an insurance career begins.

Now Teach Them Insurance.

Licensing, examination, certification, and program requirements can change.

Candidates and producers should verify current requirements with the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, Pearson VUE, Georgia Access, and other applicable official sources.

FYI Express+ educational materials do not replace official licensing or Georgia Access certification requirements.
